Divyagandham

वृन्दायै तुलसी-देव्यै प्रियायै केशवस्य च। विष्णु-भक्ति-प्रदे देवि सत्यवत्यै नमो नमः॥

I offer my repeated obeisances unto Vrinda, Srimati Tulsi-Devi, who is very dear to Lord Keshava (Krishna/Vishnu). O goddess, you bestow devotional service to Lord Vishnu (Vishnu-bhakti-prade) and you possess the highest truth.” And why Tulsi? Because the mantra itself explains: she is not merely a plant but the earthly manifestation of the goddess Vrinda, the most beloved of Vishnu (Priyayai Keshavasya Cha). It is said no offering to Vishnu is complete without her presence. This fragrance is her sacred blessing.
